It won’t be opened year round, but tourists to Blind River will have access to the Blind River Tourism Centre on a seasonal basis.
Mayor Sally Hagman had moved the motion to continue operating the centre at the last council meeting, but council had deferred it to look into the matter further.
Declining usage and a hefty repair bill were the reasons given.
However, council has decided having it open has merit and it will serve the public from the Victoria Day weekend to the Thanksgiving Day weekend.
Council also agreed to look at the possibility of renting it out during the off season as a way to offset costs and ensure its usage during the winter months.
