Broadband Act

More Ontarians could get access to broadband internet if a new bill is passed. Infrastructure Minister Laurie Scott tabled the Supporting Broadband Infrastructure Expansion Act today (March 4th), which aims to reduce costs for internet providers to attach broadband into pre-existing hydro infrastructure.

The bill is part of the Ontario government’s $1 billion dollar pledge for better connectivity in the province. Scott says she hopes to pass the bill as soon as possible and move forward with getting more people connected.
