Cheesy PullApart Garlic Bread

Recipe

I recently travelled down to my sister’s house to attend a concert. My Brother-in-law had thoughtfully prepared a yummy meal for us to enjoy before heading out to the venue. Accompanying a delicious pasta dish was this ooey-gooey, cheesy loaf of pull-apart garlic bread. If you want to impress your guests and make them delightfully happy – plunk this loaf right in the middle of your table! We quickly tore that loaf apart, devouring it, and my brother-in-law was the hero for the night. The recipe calls for sourdough, but any dense and crusty bread will work. Trust me – it will be a hit!

Cheesy PullApart Garlic Bread
• 1 sourdough boule (or other loaf of dense bread with a crusty top)
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
• 2- 4 cloves garlic, minced (depending on how garlicy you want it or
how big your cloves are)
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 375ºF. Using a serrated knife, cut a crosshatch pattern in the bread by slicing it lengthwise and then widthwise without cutting all the way through the bottom crust. Melt the butter in a small saucepan or in the microwave then stir in the minced garlic. Brush or drizzle the garlic butter inside the bread, carefully pulling apart each section so it’s distributed throughout the entire loaf. Divide the cheeses evenly throughout the bread by tucking it into each slice. Place the filled bread on a piece of foil and wrap the foil up and around the bread. Bake the bread for 15 minutes, then unfold the foil and bake the bread an additional 10 to 15 minutes until it’s crisped slightly. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
