Council approves additional funds for Blind River crosswalk

Blind River council has given its approval on a pedestrian crosswalk at WC Eaket Secondary School.

Council had originally budgeted $15,000, but Ken Raymond, director of protective services, told councillors the final cost came in higher due to the price of aluminum poles, freight charges, and cost installation itself.

Raymond says an additional $5,538 is needed and requested the additional funds come from the Future Project Reserve.

Council approved moving the funds to cover the cost.
