The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon has purchased property to build a new French-language Catholic school to serve the Hanmer/ Val Thérèse communities.

Board president André Bidal says the new school will be in Val Thérèse on Municipal Road at the major intersection of Shirley Avenue.

He adds having already received the capital funding approval for construction the board will now have architectural plans finalized for the new school and day care.

Bidal says the new school will integrate the school populations from École Notre-Dame, École St-Joseph and École Ste-Thérèse.

He adds families will be notified of the timeline for actual construction once the architectural drawings are finalized.
