Elliot Lake council wants creditor recognition from Red Wings

The Elliot Lake Red Wings did not get the support they hoped for from Elliot Lake council.

Council agreed to a sponsorship of $10,000, half of the non-cash funding sought from the city.

The city is also demanding a signed agreement with the board listing Elliot Lake as a creditor of record since the club still owes the city $50,000, and another $25,000 to ELNOS.

In early April, the city was informed the Elliot Lake Wildcats, had been re-branded as the Elliot Lake Red Wings, but the debts are still owing.

The city is now waiting for a response from the team’s management group.
