ÉSC Champlain student presented Governor General’s Academic Medal and Lieutenant Governor Award

A student of Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon has received two awards for his academic and volunteer efforts during his years in high school.

Board communication director Paul de la Riva says Sébastien Whissell, a 2021 graduate from Champlain Secondary in Chelmsford is the recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal for the year 2020-2021 academic year.

He says the medal is awarded to the student graduating from Grade 12 with the highest average at the completion of their secondary school studies.

De la Riva adds Whissell is also the recipient of the coveted Lieutenant Governor Award for volunteerism adding during his four years in high school having completed more than 1,000 hours of community service.
