ESPANOLA RESIDENT CHARGED FOR BREACHING CONDITIONS

(ESPANOLA, ON) – On December 8, 2020, at approximately 5:47 p.m. members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a person in violation of their court ordered conditions within the Town of Espanola.

Police attended and determined that the individual was breaching their conditions. As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old person, from Espanola, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code (CC).

 

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in February, in Espanola.

The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim related to this incident.
