Friends of Mindemoya Old School gets six months to put together a plan

Central Manitoulin council has given the Friends of the Old Mindemoya School not-for-profit some time to put together a plan to save the building.

Treasurer Allison McAllister says council has allowed the organization 6 months to develop a business plan.

She says they will begin a dialogue with the municipalities representative to discuss how we will move forward.

Council had slated the building for demolition, but the Friends believe it can repurpose the structure to spare it from the wrecking ball.
