The four children of slain Manitoulin OPP Constable Marc Hovingh are receiving funding to help them with their futures thanks to a GoFundMe campaign.
Ontario Provincial Police Association Branch 13 and team leader Scott Jacklin organized the campaign on Tuesday.
Last Thursday, Hovingh was shot and killed in the line of duty while responding to a property dispute near Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island.
Jacklin says Hovingh and his wife Lianne have four children: Laura, Nathan, Elena, and Sarah.
He says all four are currently completing their post-secondary education or just beginning their lives on their own.
As of press time, nearly $40,000 of a $100,000 goal has been raised.
