Graduation moves to the fall for Espanola High

Espanola High School will be celebrating graduation in the fall due to Covid-19, rather than a virtual one this month.
EHS principal Christina Rivard says all the schools in Rainbow District School Board have decided to host graduation exercises in the fall.
Rivard adds the decision was made after students at Espanola High were polled and 88% indicated that they preferred a face-to face-graduation as opposed to a virtual graduation.
She says they still plan to recognize the graduates in a special way on the original date of June 25 th .
She adds teachers are making calls home for lockers to be cleaned out this Friday and next Tuesday.
Rivard says the school will be opened during the day for students to come in and get their belongings following COVID-19 protocols.
