Labour Day Road Toll A Success Once Again; Gating The New Park

The annual Labour Day Road Toll was another success in Espanola, hosted by the Espanola Regional Hospital Foundation.
Foundation communications spokesperson, Terri Noble, says $2,889 was raised this year on the Holiday Monday. She adds they only collected from one side of the road, which meant a smaller area of coverage with the traffic heading north.
Noble adds the funds raised are going to a specific gating system that will allow for easy access, but also protection for the users of the Espanola Therapeutic Park, which will be constructed next Spring. The new park will house waterworks, gardening, sitting and walking areas for residents of the long-term care, especially those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, in a safe and enclosed outdoor environment.
