MANITOULIN OPP CHARGES IMPAIRED DRIVER

(WEBBWOOD, ON) – On November 1, 2020, at approximately 2:09 a.m. members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17, in Webbwood.

Police stopped a motor vehicle and it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. Police conducted a roadside investigation which lead to the driver being arrested and transported to the Espanola detachment for further testing.

As a result, Justin SAGGAU, 24-years-old, from Webbwood, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC; and
  • Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code, contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) of the CC.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded.
