New Espanola Scout Troop Finds A Home

There will be a new Scout troop for Espanola and North Shore in the New Year.
Local organizer, Robert Haarmeyer says a venue to host meetings has been found, so establishing the new troop is now underway.
The new troop held its first get-to-know-each-other meeting at Ecole St. Joseph on Monday, December 4th. All of the December meetings will be time to share and find out what interests the youth have, as well as highlight what is available in the program.
Haarmeyer says official registration is set for January.
“We are hoping to host a couple of meetings for those interested in attending before registration in January for a couple of reasons,” says Haarmeyer. “We want people to get to know each other, but we also want to help them save some registration fees by waiting until the new year.”
“Our troop is open to boys and girls aged 8 to 14 and we had a nice community gathering earlier in the fall where there were several youth and their families that expressed an interest in being part of Scouts.”
He adds they are looking for a corporate sponsor to help develop and assist in publicizing the new troop. Financial support is not required to be a sponsor.
Haarmeyer can be contacted on Facebook.
