Rainbow District School Board hosts special virtual meeting tonight – permanent virtual learning

The Rainbow District School Board is hosting a special meeting tonight to focus on the provincial government’s recent indications that virtual learning may be offered as a permanent option.

Board chair Doreen Dewar says the meeting will be livestreamed at 6 pm to discuss the provincial proposal to make remote learning a permanent option for parents/guardians.

She says continuing remote learning beyond the current pandemic is a fundamental shift in how public education will be delivered in Ontario, and given the significance and scope of the topic, they decided to make the meeting public.

The Province has indicated its intent on making the decision in the next few weeks.

The meeting will be livestreamed via rainbowschools.ca.
