Ballfields in Blind River will be spruced up thanks to support from the Toronto Blue Jays.
Foundation president Robert Witchel says the town is one of 14 nationwide funding recipients of the Jays Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club.
He adds it is all part of the club’s Field of Dreams program to encourage young people to play the sport, develop important life skills and learn from positive role models.
He adds the Blind River project will include refurbishment of their ball fields as well as new equipment for the various leagues.
The work will be carried out soon to prepare for summer fun.
