The mother of three children who died in a New Year’s Day car crash in 2020 has received a suspended sentence.
Uche Osagie received a suspended sentence on August 12th after she pleaded guilty in court to careless driving causing bodily harm.
Originally, she had also been charged with three counts of careless driving causing death, but those charges were withdrawn by the Crown.
The court heard she was driving a car on Highway 17 when the vehicle left the roadway.
Her three children, Britney, Flourish, and Destiny were killed in the single-vehicle crash near the Highway 144 interchange.
Another woman and her boy who were also in the car survived but the 10-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries.
The court suspended her sentence, and she will be placed on probation for a year.
