Township Of Baldwin Delivers Wellness Parcels To Local Seniors

On the week of June 1st, the Township of Baldwin came together to do something special for their local seniors. This “feel good” project, funded by the United Way & Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program, involved putting together wellness parcels and delivering them to the homes of 50 seniors.
Each parcel contained items specifically chosen to help seniors cope with the impacts of COVID-19. A few examples include gift cards for FreshCo and Giant Tiger, facial tissue, hand sanitizer, candy, colourful note paper, a planter filled with geraniums, and more! Parcels were packed and delivered by cheerful staff and community volunteers – including Mayor Vern Gorham.
Feedback from community members was more than positive – each completely thrilled with their special parcel. The Township of Baldwin was honoured to assist these important people in their community and would like to thank their sponsors: United Way, Government of Canada, John’s Greenhouse & Garden Centre, Domtar, Northwest Trading Post, and FreshCo Espanola.
