Tune in to Making the Transition – Finding your way from Grade 8 to 9

Rainbow District School Board has launched its guide for Grade 7 and 8 students transitioning to high school.

Board education director Bruce Bourget says they launched the first presentation earlier this week and will host more virtual presentations for students and parents.

He says the Making the Transition guide will air next Monday and on November 29 at 8 pm.

The presentation can be accessed online.

He says various topics will be discussed, including how to read timetables, how to choose courses, how to ease into a new school environment, what resources are available, and the skills students need to be successful.

Bourget adds participants will also meet staff from various programs such as Specialist High Skills Major, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, Dual Credits, Co-operative Education, Arts Education, Indigenous Education, French Immersion, 21st Century Learning, and Special Education.
