Two more COVID-19 deaths in the local districts

St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake, in collaboration with Algoma Public Health, is reporting Elliot Lake’s first COVID-19 related death which is the third COVID-19 related death in the region.

A patient previously treated at St. Joseph’s Hospital Elliot Lake passed this weekend.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is also reporting a COVID-19 related death in Greater Sudbury.

The individual was linked to the outbreak at Pioneer Manor, which to date has included five cases among residents and three among staff.

This is the 12th death within the agency’s jurisdiction since the pandemic began.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 since yesterday.

Considering resolved cases, there are 37 active cases within the agency’s jurisdiction.

Health Sciences North have 15 admitted patients with seven that have tested positive for the virus.

Of those seven, two are in ICU and the other eight are waiting for test results.

Algoma Public Health has reported three new cases in the last 24 hours.

Considering resolved cases, there are 19 active cases with one person in hospital.
