-UPDATE- MANITOULIN OPP INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY – Two Persons Charged

(ESPANOLA, ON)-  On March 19, 2021, shortly after 4:00 p.m., members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), two members from the Northeast Canine Unit, OPP’s Scenes of Crime with the assistance from a member from the Anishinabek Police Service responded to a robbery at an apartment complex on Park Street in the Town of Espanola.

 

As a result of the investigation, Christopher NEVILLE, 29 years-of-age from Espanola was charged with:

  • Robbery Using Firearm, contrary to section 344(1)(a.1) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Break, Enter Dwelling House, Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC;
  • Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, contrary to section 88 0f the CC;
  • Pointing a Firearm, contrary to section 87 of the CC(two counts);
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC; and with
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the CC.

 

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Espanola on March 23, 2021.

 

Orobosa OSAMUY, 18 years-of-age from Toronto, was charged with:

  • Robbery Using Firearm, contrary to section 344(1)(a.1) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Break, Enter Dwelling House, Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC;
  • Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, contrary to section 88 0f the CC;
  • Pointing a Firearm, contrary to section 87 of the CC(two counts);
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC; and with
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the CC.
