World Rivers Day

Students are being encouraged to walk to school as part of World Rivers Day.

World Rivers Day is being celebrated today by schools across the districts including AB Ellis Public School in Espanola.

According to the release, students will focus on how rivers face a massive challenge posed due to climate change and global warming.

The day is a celebration of the world’s waterways and usually held on the fourth Sunday of September.

Local students will examine the role the Spanish River has played in Espanola’s history and also register their initiatives on the official site:
