Baldwin Township constituents want fire services, garbage bins, and road reviews

By Rosalind Russell – Despite a small crowd in attendance for the debate for Baldwin Township, the discussion was varied and vocal.

Road maintenance was by far the most important issue for many of those in attendance and councillors agreed that bringing roads up to standard is a priority.

Fire services will likely be reviewed when the new council comes in with residents wanting the township to take a close look at how those services would be accessible for isolated properties, especially those that can only be reached by water.

Garbage disposal, policing, tourism, and working with sister communities on economic development were also discussed.

Tonight, voters will meet in the Sadowsky Room at the Massey arena with candidates running for office in the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers.

The doors will open at 6 pm with the debate beginning at 6:30 pm.
