Butterflyway looking for supporting members

The Manitoulin Butterflyway Project has been established on Manitoulin Island and with Spring on the way is looking for interested individuals to sign up as volunteers.

Islander Melissa Volpini says she joined the David Suzuki Foundation’s Butterflyway Project as a volunteer, a resident-led movement that is creating habitat for local bees and butterflies in communities throughout Canada.

In her role as a Butterflyway Ranger, she is looking for volunteers across Manitoulin Island to help fill communities with native wildflowers that support pollinating insects.

Volpini can also offer information on what to plant, what pollinators there are on the Island and more as part of her training.
