By Rosalind Russell – With students coming to Cambrian from more than 40 countries, Cambrian College has opened a new spiritual centre for them to celebrate their many different faith traditions and spiritual beliefs.
Lynn Courville, President of Cambrian Student Council says the idea for a common spiritual centre was brought forth by the students.
She adds it features a main room, cubicles for private prayer and meditation, and a foot washing station.
She says it is housed on the first floor of Cambrian’s main campus in Sudbury and is open to all between 8 am to 8 pm daily.
Couville adds the college wants to accommodate students seeking a place to practice their faith and spirituality and connect with others who may share those beliefs, so the new centre provides a safe space for that.
