By Rosalind Russell – After more than eight years guiding Cambrian College, President Bill Best has advised Cambrian’s Board of Governors that he will be returning to New Brunswick to accept the role of Vice President Finance and Administration at the University of New Brunswick.
Jeff Smith, the chair of the Governors’ Board, says although disappointed, the governors appreciate the work Best has done over the years with the college enjoying unprecedented growth, even through the pandemic, and including the satellite campuses in Espanola and Little Current.
Best says it has been a true privilege to serve the Cambrian communities, but it is now time to put family first and for him to return home.
Best served as the inaugural chair of the Kivi Park Community Foundation, as a director of the Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation and for NORCAT, among others.
His last day will be January 3rd, 2023, with Shawn Poland, the Vice President External Partnerships, Strategic Enrolment, and Executive Director of the College’s Foundation will assume the role of Interim President.
The recruitment process is now underway, says Smith.
