Climate change and hurricanes

A new study says climate change is causing hurricanes to be stronger, last longer, and be felt farther inland…..and that trend is expected to continue.

The survey looked at the last 50 years of hurricanes, and has found that they’re remaining at hurricane status for almost twice as long once they come ashore.

That means a greater threat to inland communities which, traditionally, haven’t had to worry as much as coastal locations.

So far, there have been 30 named storms this hurricane season…..a record high.
