Phase three of the resurfacing of Highway Six in the Town of Espanola is underway.
Espanola council approved the third phase of the connecting link project from MacDonalds to Second Avenue on Centre Street in late June at a cost of just over $6-million dollars accepting the bid from Garson Pipe Incorporated.
The town also received approval of a grant for $3 million from the Ministry of Transportation with the rest of the funding coming from the water and sewer reserves.
The work includes reconstruction of the roadway and replacing about 950 metres of water main.
The work is expected to be completed by October of next fall.
Travellers can expect intermittent stops and starts throughout the construction period.
