Drug warrant on Manitoulin leads to arrest of two people

Two people are facing multiple charges following the execution of a warrant on Manitoulin Island.

In the release, Manitoulin OPP state a warrant was executed at a residence on Maple Crescent in Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation last Friday evening.

Officials say the OPP and UCCM Anishnabe Police seized $15,000 in cash, various drugs with an estimated street value of $28,000, digital scales and edged weapons. 

A 37-year-old from the First Nation and a 19-year-old from Toronto both face two charges each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.

The two appeared in Gore Bay court on Monday.
