École Notre-Dame de la Merci supports Ukrainian families settling in Sudbury

By Rosalind Russell – Students in Sudbury have gone out of their way to help support Ukrainian families settling in Sudbury.

Coniston’s École Notre-Dame de la Merci principal Melanie Vaillancourt says her students raised just over $1,400 by hosting a pancake breakfast to help the families.

She says students and staff wanted to support the victims in Ukraine and raise awareness how they can help in a simple way to make life a bit easier for the newcomers.

Four families have already arrived and settled in the city over the last two weeks with more expected soon.
