By Rosalind Russell – Repairs to the pool in Elliot Lake will be the focus of the new council tonight. In mid-October, staff discussed with council the current condition of the aquatics centre and presented three options for the scope of work that needed to be done.
Staff also indicated they initiated the design phase with Aquatics Associates without undertaking a tender process due to the tight timeframes to ensure only one aquatics season is interrupted.
Staff says the company has assembled their team of consultants and preferred suppliers, and their proposal will be the focus of the council’s discussion this evening.
