Espanola Firefighters ATV Poker Run a mighty fine mess … and we like it!

By Rosalind Russell – The Fifth Annual Espanola Firefighters ATV Poker Run was a fine, muddy affair and everyone … loved it! The more mud, the better, that is the philosophy of the over 300 people who took part in the annual affair on Saturday, September 17th.

Ryan Courtemanche, the chair of the Espanola firefighters organizing committee, says they sold out all 300 tickets and had tremendous support from the wider community for the prize board and so much more.

A big shout out goes out to Boogie Mountain for providing home base for the ride, which took participants through some of the muddiest trails in the North Shore corridor.

Courtemanche adds he does not have a final number yet, but with all the tickets sold and donations, it will be a tidy sum with the funds going to Muscular Dystrophy Canada once again.
