An Espanola Nurse has received a special accolade for the work she has done in palliative care.

Chelsea Gagnon was presented with the 2022 WeRPN Michael and Werner Geidlinger Award of Excellence in Palliative Care awarded at this year’s AGM of the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.

She was recognized for her having helped many patients and families during their palliative journeys, as well as advocating for them, providing the best quality of care and helping to meet patients’ needs and goals.

Gagnon is part of the Espanola Family Health Team working in both the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre.
