An investigation into the death of a senior in Elliot Lake is underway.
A 65-year-old is dead after an apartment fire on Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake, which occurred at around midnight on December 30th.
East Algoma OPP says the Elliot Lake Fire Department was already on scene and had located someone inside.
They add the person was transported to hospital by Algoma Paramedic Services but was later pronounced deceased.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and the OPP’s Forensic Identification Services are assisting the fire department in determining the cause.
There is no foul play suspected at this time.
