By Rosalind Russell – There has been an outbreak of Parainfluenza on the third floor and a COVID-19 outbreak on the first floor declared by Algoma Public Health at Elliot Lake’s St. Joseph’s General Hospital in the past 48 hours.
Jeremy Stevenson, the hospital CEO, says the public can direct inquiries to Algoma Public Health or their health providers.
He adds existing restrictions where visitation is limited to Essential Workers Only remain in place.
Stevenson says the protocols will stay in place for the time being and the public will be advised of any changes if new information becomes available.
For more information on respiratory viruses, contact Algoma Public Health at: (705) 942- 4646 ext. 5404 or your family health care provider.
