Fundraisers help different groups

By Rosalind Russell – Not only was the annual Santa Day held in Espanola to welcome the holiday season, but it also provided the opportunity for different groups to benefit from the public’s generosity.

The Third Annual Holiday Market entry fee of food items garnered pounds of food for the Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank and the Espanola Elks collected over $4,000 to go towards providing hampers to families and individuals during the Christmas season.

Some of the donations included $750 from the Espanola Lions Club and $500 each from the Espanola Legion, local Knights Cruisers Car Club and Dodge Haulage.

The Espanola Lions Club also hosted Santa’s annual visit providing lunch and treats, as well as a party for the children.

The Stationary Parade capped off the day with families taking in the drive, photo booth and treats provided by local businesses and the Town of Espanola.
