Inaugural Espanola Makers Market set to open this weekend

By Rosalind Russell – A new business incentive to highlight local makers and producers is set for this coming Saturday in Espanola’s Downtown.

Simplicity Natural Foods has partnered with the town to host the market over the summer and proprietor Trisha Stewart says the inaugural opening will feature 24 local vendors offering a wide variety of goods from candles to produce, baked goods to home décor, jewellery to fresh flowers.

She says Domtar is also supporting the project providing wooden coins at local downtown businesses.

Stewart says shoppers in the downtown core will receive a coin for their support and can redeem them at the market for a gift.

She says the market runs from ten am to 2 pm, but since it is family oriented, there are children’s activities being offered from ten am to noon.
