Integrity Commissioner finds Nairn & Hyman councillor in contravention of Code of Conduct

E4m, the Integrity Commissioner has found a Nairn & Hyman Township councillor guilty of several breaches of the Code of Conduct.

The commissioner was called in to investigate a complaint made by a member of the public who stated that Deputy Mayor Councillor Rod MacDonald had made several inappropriate remarks about specific staff and their work at the township’s June 7th budget meeting, and also released personal information.

The commissioner found MacDonald guilty of nine breaches of the Code of Conduct. 

Council accepted the report and the recommendation of the commissioner that MacDonald loses 90 days of remuneration for his actions.

This is the second time MacDonald was investigated by the Integrity Commissioner and found guilty of breaches.

He is running for another term of office.
