Laurentian University gets extension

A Sudbury judge has extended Laurentian University’s request to stay bankruptcy proceedings until September 30th to protect the instituation from its creditors.

According to Northern Ontario Business, the university’s lawyer, D.J. Miller, the extension until the fall represents the home stretch of Laurentian’s bankruptcy restructuring. 

The university is in the process of negotiating with creditors as it prepares the plan of arrangement for presentation to the court. 

Laurentian has been undergoing insolvency restructuring for over a year now.
