By Rock Taylor – The Espanola Lions are pleased to announce that after dark skating at the oval this winter will be safer with the installation of solar powered lights. Three poles provided and installed by public works at the south end and west side of the oval each hold two 900/1200W solar units to brighten those darker areas. These lights purchased by the Lions, will also allow them to work on the ice later at night when temperatures are optimum. We don’t mean to be rushing the winter season, but we do want to be ready to maximize your enjoyment of the skating oval when the time arrives.
