Little information on incident that closed Highway Six for hours

By Rosalind Russell-

Early Sunday morning, there was an incident on Willisville Mountain on Highway Six that closed traffic for hours.

Manitoulin OPP issued an advisory shortly after nine am that the highway would be closed while the investigation continued into an incident that occurred before six that morning.

The ORNGE helicopter was also brought in on-site, but OPP has yet to release any further details as to the vehicles and/or individuals involved.

The closure occurred on the only highway access to Manitoulin Island on one of the busiest days of the year for tourist traffic.

More information is expected later today.
