By Rosalind Russell-
More residents and staff of the Manitoulin Lodge on Manitoulin Island have come down with COVID-19.
As of Friday afternoon, the long-term residence in Gore Bay confirmed that there were at least 31 cases of the virus among the residents and 12 confirmed staffers.
The updated totals will not be provided publicly until later today.
All residents are in isolation and only essential caregivers, or palliative care visits are being allowed access.
Staff is asking people to keep their visits and/or phone calls to a minimum since the staffing shortage is keeping them busy.
