Marc Hovingh Memorial Ride, Walk or Run a success

By Rosalind Russell-

The final numbers are not in yet, but the Second Annual Marc Hovingh Memorial Ride, Walk or Run had participants come to Manitoulin Island from across the province to take part.

Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha took part coming in from Elliot Lake to take in the Manitoulin Island ride.

He says it was a success with many people taking part in the fundraiser held on Saturday.

All the funds raised will go towards the OPP Youth Foundation for local programming on Manitoulin Island.

The ride is held in memory of the late Marc Hovingh, a constable with the Manitoulin OPP who was killed in the line of duty in November of 2020.
