Mask mandates at Manitoulin Health Centres

By Rosalind Russell – Manitoulin Health Centres want the public to know that mask mandates remain in place for some areas of their hospitals in Little Current and Mindemoya.

Communications co-ordinator Kelly Timmermans says both sites remain mask friendly environments respecting and supporting all employees, patients, and visitors if they choose to wear a mask in any area with masks available at entrances to the hospital.

She says as of yesterday masks will be always required in high-risk areas including the chemotherapy treatment room and emergency departments.

Timmermans adds visitors are also required to always wear masks in inpatient units, including in patient rooms, but not in public spaces or in outpatient areas including waiting rooms and treatment areas.

She says the public will be updated when the policy changes.
