By Rosalind Russell – The Cameco Blind River Refinery is hosting its inaugural Charity Golf Tournament at Huron Pines Golf & Country Club on August 19th in support of the company’s Step Up for Mental Health initiative.
Refinery general manager Terry Davis says the program recognizes the importance of and need for mental health resources in the Blind River community, and funding is essential to improve access and support for those who need it.
Registration for the tournament is $110 per player and includes golf, a cart and lunch. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available, some of which include spots for golfers. To register, sponsor or donate, visit www.camecofuel.com/golf.
Applications for funding will be open in the fall of 2022 and will be adjudicated by a panel that includes local mental health professionals and representatives from Cameco.
