Outbreak declared over at Island long-term care facility

By Rosalind Russell-

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared over at a Manitoulin Island long-term seniors’ residence.

Gore Bay’s Manitoulin Lodge administrator Jamie Kalmikov says Public Health Sudbury & Districts has declared the outbreak over.

She says there are still two active cases one being a staff member, the other a resident but with the declaration, normal visits are being allowed once again and the residents are out of isolation.

She adds sadly one of the residents died from the disease.

Kalmikov says 37 resident cases and 20 staff cases are now resolved.
