Search and Rescue hosting online drive for new vehicle

North Shore Search and Rescue needs to replace one of their aging vehicles.

According to the release, with such a large and remote area of coverage, they rely heavily on vehicles and equipment to respond wherever and whenever they are needed.

The SUV, which allows them to transport team members and equipment to calls for service, is at a point where it needs replacing.

No volunteer search and rescue teams in the province of Ontario receive any regular funding from any level of government, be it municipal, provincial or federal, and search and rescue in Canada is a free service.
