Shot in the arm for Espanola hospital staff

Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre health care staff received their first shots of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday.

Dr. Andre Michon oversaw the clinic yesterday saying the Moderna vaccine was given to residents of the Espanola Nursing Home earlier in February and health care workers, identified as the highest priority, received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Both Moderna & Pfizer are given in two separate doses a few weeks apart.

Director of Clinical Services Jane Battistelli adds they are anticipating they will bring the team together to vaccinate more health care providers tomorrow.

The clinic is set up at the Espanola Senior’s Drop-In Centre.
