Sidewalk upgrade slated for Blind River’s Highway 17 corridor

By Rosalind Russell – The federal government has come through with funding to have sidewalks upgraded along the Highway 17 corridor running through Blind River.

Town facilities and community services director Karen Bittner says the feds are providing a $300,000 grant to cover 60 per cent of the costs with the rest coming from reserves.

She adds the money will be used to upgrade sidewalks along Highway 17 from The 17 Restaurant to Milltown Motors.

The work will begin when Spring arrives.
