Supply giant ignores Michigan

Today’s the day that Enbridge has been ordered by Michigan’s governor to shut down Line 5, it’s major pipeline from Alberta to eastern Canada.

But the company won’t close the valves unless ordered by the courts.

Michigan has revoked the 55-year-old pipeline’s permit over fears it may spring a leak where it crosses the Straits of Mackinac, near the border with Ontario.

It supplies half of Ontario’s fuel.
